Hey there!

We’re Chris and Melanie, and we thought it’d be cool to share a bit about ourselves and why we got into breeding Siamese, Oriental, and Foreign White cats.

We’ve been happily married for 16 years and along the way, we’ve had all sorts of animal companions. From your usual dogs and cats to some more unconventional pets like reptiles and exotic birds, we’ve had quite the furry and feathery crew.

Melanie’s soft spot for Siamese cats goes way back to her childhood as her mum had a blue point Siamese named Scaramouche when she was born and there are many photos of Melanie as a baby with Scaramouche in the cot with her.

When we first met, Melanie already had a charming seal point Siamese called Fabio, and it didn’t take long for him to win Chris’ heart too… Although Fabio wasn’t too thrilled about sharing the bed initially, he eventually warmed up to the idea.

About Us - Fabio

In 2006, we tied the knot, and a breeder friend surprised us with a lovely wedding present – our very first breeding queen, InThMatrx Voodoo Girl. She quickly bonded with Fabio, and after Fabio’s death in November 2006 it felt like Fabio was still around in some way through her. But his influence definitely lived on through Voodoo!

Voodoo became an integral part of our lives until she sadly passed away in August 2016 from Pancreatic Cancer. That period of 2016 was a tough time for us, but she left behind wonderful memories.

Why Rislani?

When we became breeders officially, in August of 2006, we needed a unique cattery prefix – a name that would represent us and our cattery. So, we put our heads together and came up with “Rislani.” It’s a mashup of RIS from Chris and LANI from Melanie.

Perfect, right?

So, that’s our story!

We’re just a regular couple who found joy in raising these amazing breeds, and it’s been a rewarding journey for us.

Cheers!
