At Rislani Cats we are taking the current COVID-19 pandemic VERY seriously.

Due to the nature of our employment, the implications to our cattery should we get sick and as per Victorian State Government instructions, we have made the decision to cease meet and greet visits during the current pandemic. In lieu of meet and greets we will be endeavouring to post images and videos of our kittens more frequently on our Facebook Page.

If your kitten is ready to collect during the pandemic: there will be strict social distancing and hand sanitising procedures to follow.

Providing a safe and healthy environment for our cats is paramount during this time and your understanding is greatly appreciated.

Understanding how our waiting list works

Our waiting list is sorted by DATE.

FOR EXAMPLE: If you first contacted us on 01/01/2020, you will be higher on the list than someone who first contacted us on 02/01/2020.

We also record notes on breed, sex and colour. So if you contacted us on 01/01/2020 and said you wanted a seal point female, and the person who contacted us on 02/01/2020 said seal point male - if we only have male kittens available, the person below you would be offered their kitten first as they specified male.

HOWEVER, we do also record notes like "wants female, but will consider male". So in this instance, the person who contacted us on 01/01/2020 would be contacted first to see if they would like to be considered for the available male kitten, or if they would prefer to wait for the next litter to see if we get their first preference of a female.

When we have kittens available - we find the person at the top of our list that has specified the breed, sex and colour combination of the available kitten and contact them (unless they have specified something like "old style" and the kitten we have is more "modern style") to see if they want to be considered for this kitten. If they say yes - they get first option to adopt that kitten. If they ask to wait for a future litter for whatever reason, or ask to be removed from our list as they have found a kitten elsewhere, we move on to the next person on our list, and so on and so on until someone does say yes.

We DO NOT allow people to "pay a deposit now" or pay a additional fee to put themselves at the top of the waiting list as we simply cannot guarantee what we will get from a litter - we also strongly believe this is unfair on the people who have been waiting patiently for a longer period of time.

What you can expect when adopting a Rislani Kitten

At Rislani, our breeding cats are beloved family members first, and foremost. All our queens all reside within our home with us and sleep on our bed with us. Unfortunately, due to spraying this is not possible with our studs, so they do reside outside in a secure outdoor pen, however, this does not mean our studs are anti-social. Our studs receive attention daily and cuddles.

When our queens give birth, they remain with their babies until their babies are ready to venture off into the world on their own. All our kittens are lovingly hand raised within the home and are handled regularly from the day they are born, so they are well adjusted and socialised kittens used to normal household noises (of course this doesn't guarantee your kitten won't be scared of some household noises like the vacuum cleaner!).

Some of the toys we have found tend to be "favourites"

The typical adoption process
At approx 4-5 weeks of age, we start contacting people at the top of our waiting list to inform them of kitten availability.
Once you have confirmed you wish to proceed with adopting a particular kitten from the litter, you will be sent our adoption agreement.
A kitten WILL NOT be considered as "reserved" until a completed adoption agreement and deposit has been received.
We will then do our best to provide regular updates, photos and where possible video's via our Facebook page until the time of collection.

If you wish to be placed on our obligation free waiting list, please contact us.

Please be as detailed as possible when completing the contact us form. We do not simply sell kittens to whoever has the money - we like to know our kittens are going to a home where they would be treated in the same manner as what they would be treated if they were to stay at our home. To maintain your spot on the waiting list you will need to keep in touch with us, otherwise we will assume you have found what you are after with another breeder and no longer wish to be on the waiting list.

A non-refundable deposit of $500 is required to reserve your kitten. We do send kittens interstate/overseas at the buyers expense.

All kittens are to be taken to their new homes in a suitable carry cage. One can be supplied at extra cost if required.

Please be aware NO cat or kitten will leave our care unless de-sexed; so please don't ask unless you are a registered breeder who practices early de-sexing as refusal may offend.
